Meet the Owner
Hi, I’m Steve!
I’ve owned the Shuswap Wine Cellar for three years now. Moved to Blind Bay eight years ago with my wife Pam and we are still loving it. Last year we bought a pontoon boat and now we are really enjoying the lake.
As well as helping you make wine and beer, I’m also a sound editor and voice talent. So when you come in to the store, you may see me with the headphones on, doing a sound edit or mix. Of course I write and produce my own radio commercials, which is so much fun.
I count myself as lucky to have these gigs and to be able to combine them into a “blend” if you will. I enjoy my customers, and many I can say are friends. Cheers to more years doing this!
So how did I get into wine?
Well, during a slow period in the audio biz, I picked up a part time gig at the Shuswap Wine Cellar. I was a customer and it was the perfect part time job for me. I had made my own wine kits in Alberta for many years, and really enjoyed the process. Besides, this got me out of my basement home studio and got me meeting people in the community. I really enjoyed it.
When the opportunity to buy the business came up, I didn’t hesitate. So here I am, u-brew owner and enthusiast, with sound design now being my part time job. Looking forward to whatever comes next….
